James Cook
P+HS has been working at James Cook University Hospital for over 15 years, delivering a wide range of acute services across all disciplines at this major acute tertiary centre. Schemes have included cardiac theatres, cardiac intensive care unit, outpatients departments, renal facilities, women and children, maternity delivery suites, new endoscopy centre, several linear accelerator bunkers, rapid access clinic and general ward improvement programmes.
More recently, a whole series of projects are being undertaken under ProCure21, with the PFI partner working with the Trust commissioning schemes jointly. Schemes vary from the new £18m Oncology Centre, comprising three LINAC bunkers, outpatients and chemotherapy unit and new £3m general theatres and recovery area, through to over 30 projects procured via the P21 minor works contract.
In addition, as part of the Kings Fund’s enhancing the ‘healing environments’ initiative, P+HS has worked with South Tees Trust to provide a facility within an existing ward which specialises in palliative care. The resulting new four bed ward is specifically designed to provide a peaceful and dignified environment for patients and their families.
