Bankyard
This scheme, comprising 13 flats for elderly persons was won in competition and developed as a partnering scheme. The very small site is located right at the heart of the conservation area in the historic town of Richmond.
The restricted brownfield site which had former uses as a bakery and public toilets has now been transformed to provide much needed affordable housing for the elderly. The scheme built on three floors has a single point of access giving controlled access to the stairs and lift. Access to each floor is provide by a simple south facing galvanised steel access decks which also double up as balconies and outdoor space.
