Architectural Designer Part 1, Newcastle
We are looking for a motivated Part 1 graduate from June this year who is ready to gain professional practical experience as part of their RIBA Part 2 preparation. This placement will provide you with hands on experience on live projects, developing your technical and professional skills within a supportive, collaborative team.
What We’re Looking For
Students who have completed a RIBA Part 1 course and are seeking their placement year
Strong design, visualisation, and graphics skills
Familiarity with software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office
Enthusiastic, adaptable, and eager to learn
Curious and proactive, willing to explore solutions and ask questions
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, works effectively with colleagues
Resilient and adaptable, able to respond to change and manage multiple tasks
Creative and detail-oriented, takes pride in producing accurate work
Professional and reliable, takes ownership of tasks and meets deadlines
Motivated to develop professionally, engages with feedback, CPD, and career progression
Brings a positive attitude and energy, committed to supporting projects and colleagues
Job Responsibilities
Contribute to the preparation of drawings, specifications, schedules, and presentation materials
Assist in site surveys and recording existing buildings or structures
Support production of graphics, visuals, models, and documents
Carry out administrative tasks related to project documentation
Work within Practice procedures, templates, and QA standards
Respond to client queries and escalate when needed
Research aspects of building design, legislation, and codes of practice
Maintain accurate PEDR sheets, CPD records, and timesheets
Travel to project sites or other offices when required
