Magdalena Płonka
BA(Hons) MArch
Architect, BIM Lead
Magda joined the Leeds office in September 2024. She holds a First-Class Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the Manchester School of Architecture, where she was awarded the Academic Excellence Dean’s Award in 2017, followed by a Master’s Degree with Distinction in 2020. Magda completed her Part 3 qualification with RIBA North West and qualified as an Architect in Autumn 2023.
She brings experience across mixed-use, commercial, and healthcare sectors, working across all RIBA stages. Throughout both her academic studies and professional practice, Magda has developed a strong interest in urban regeneration and adaptive reuse. She is particularly drawn to projects involving intervention within existing structures, where complex design challenges create opportunities for innovative solutions and renewed potential for established spaces.
Over the past few years in practice, Magda has focused her professional development on Building Information Modelling (BIM). She has applied this expertise in her role as Design Manager and Coordination Model Manager for the Vascular Imaging Unit Refurbishment at York General Hospital. Reflecting her growing specialist knowledge, Magda was appointed as one of the practice’s BIM Leads in December 2025. In this role, she provides strategic guidance on BIM implementation within the P+HS Leeds office and contributes to the practice-wide adoption of ISO 19650 standards, working closely with other BIM Leads across P+HS.
