BArch(Hons) MArch DipArch
Architect, Healthcare Lead

Maral is a Senior Architect with a broad portfolio spanning healthcare, residential, workplace, hospitality, events, and heritage projects. An original co-founder of RIBA North East YAPF and a RIBA Role Model (2015), she is deeply committed to championing diversity, inclusion, and equality within the built environment. Passionate about mentoring emerging professionals and inspiring young people, Maral was selected as one of CBBC’s Designers for The Dengineers, a role she held for six years.

Since joining P+HS in June 2023, Maral has focused predominantly on healthcare projects. Her recent work includes the delivery of a new 20-bed inpatient respiratory ward for University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, alongside masterplanning and phased development proposals for North Tees Hospital. She has led the design of a new Aseptic and Radiopharmacy facility at South Tyneside Hospital and the development of an estate strategy plan for South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. Most recently, Maral led the delivery of a sensitive new link between the Urgent Treatment Centre and the Royal Victoria Infirmary Accident & Emergency Department in Newcastle, involving complex coordination and Building Safety Regulator submissions for a High-Risk Building.

Alongside her architectural role, Maral is a Healthcare Lead, supporting the growth of cross-practice healthcare expertise and promoting a critically considered, creative, and future-focused approach to healthcare design. She also leads a debate forum initiative under the Rising Culture umbrella, fostering open dialogue and critical discussion across the practice.
