Architect

Maral is a Senior Architect with extensive experience across healthcare, residential, workplace, hospitality, event, and heritage projects.

As an original co-founder of RIBA North East YAPF and one of twelve RIBA Role Models (2015), Maral is committed to championing diversity, inclusion, and equality within the architectural and built environment sector. She thrives on supporting fellow professionals and guiding the next generation of architects, mentoring junior colleagues through their professional development and inspiring young people by collaborating with schools and organisations such as The Girls’ Network. Her dedication extends to tutoring and student engagement, and she was selected as one of CBBC’s Designers for The Dengineers programme, which she was involved with for 6 years.

Since joining P+HS in June 2023, Maral has successfully delivered a new 20-bed in patient respiratory ward for the University Hospital of Leicester NHS Trust. Her work includes master planning and phased development proposals for North Tees Hospital, the design of a new Aseptic and Radiopharmacy facility at South Tyneside Hospital.

Her most recent project is the development of a highly sensitive new link between the Urgent Treatment Centre and the RVI Accident & Emergency Department in Newcastle which involves a detailed coordination and regulatory submissions to the Building Safety Regulator, reflecting the complexity and works involving a ‘High Risk Building’. She has also been assigned as the project lead on developing the estate strategy plan for South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.
