Katie Shepherd joins P+HS Board as Shareholding Director

We're delighted to announce the appointment of Katie Shepherd as Shareholding Director, recognising her significant contribution to P+HS and the continued growth of our residential sector.

Katie joined P+HS in 2017 and has played an instrumental role in developing our residential portfolio, progressing from Associate to Associate Director and now joining the Board as a shareholder.

As our Residential Lead, Katie brings extensive experience in architecture, urban design and masterplanning, leading multidisciplinary teams on projects ranging from large-scale housing developments and regeneration schemes to specialist housing and later-living environments.

Her work includes Clasper Village, a flagship residential development, and regeneration-led housing in Horden, reflecting her commitment to creating high-quality homes and places that deliver lasting social value.

With a strong belief in the relationship between people, place and community, Katie is passionate about designing environments that respond to the needs of those who live in them. This people-centred approach sits at the heart of our ambition to enhance lives through architecture.

Beyond her project work, Katie is an active voice within the wider industry. She is a Board Member of Women in Social Housing (WISH), sits on the Yorkshire Design Review Panel and has previously been recognised as Mentor of the Year at the Women in Construction Awards.

She has also helped lead our Future of Residential Design series, bringing together industry experts to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of housing.

Reflecting on her appointment, Katie said:

“I’m incredibly proud to become a Director and shareholder at P+HS. Since joining the practice in 2017, it has been hugely rewarding to be part of the growth of our Newcastle studio and to develop our residential work across the practice.

What has always mattered to me is creating places that genuinely work for the people who live in them, while supporting the talented people around me to develop and succeed. Becoming a shareholder gives me the opportunity to play an even greater role in shaping the future of P+HS, and I’m really excited about what comes next.”

Katie will continue to lead and develop our residential work alongside her new responsibilities as a member of the Board, helping shape the future direction of P+HS.
