Planning Approval for the Heritage Building at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital

We're pleased to share that planning permission has been secured for proposed alterations to the Heritage Building at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Working with VINCI for University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, the project will see the relocation of the existing PET-CT department as part of a wider initiative to enhance diagnostic capacity and improve patient outcomes.

The proposed works include the refurbishment of the existing lower ground floor to accommodate an improved PET-CT department, alongside a new six-storey lift and core extension. A single-storey link corridor within the existing courtyard will improve connectivity, with further upgrades planned throughout the building.

The project is currently progressing through RIBA Stage 4, with the Gateway 2 application scheduled for submission this month.

This is a fantastic milestone for everyone involved, including Laura Bell, Jake Penrose, Izzy Scholey, Joe Clark, and Matthew Kempster. Congratulations to the team!
