Rivendale provides 51 two-bedroomed flats in Northallerton where older people can continue to live independently with the comfort of on site care and support when needed.

The P+HS team worked closely with Broadacres and other stakeholders to develop a sustainable design, firmly rooted in the community. The scheme includes a restaurant, hairdressing salon, hobby room and therapy room all open to the public during the day to encourage interaction with neighbours and build a sense of community.

Additional facilities include a spacious assisted bathroom, laundry, high quality guest suite for overnight visitors and generous gardens for quiet contemplation, pottering or active pursuits such as bowls or gardening. Resident only areas areas are protected by electronic keypads providing security and privacy.

We created a design for the future using sustainable materials and supporting the environment. Elements include timber frame construction, rainwater recycling, heat recovery system, solar water heating, sedum roof. The development achieved BREEAM Very Good.
