Grimsby MRI

A £8.4 million redevelopment at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby (DPoW), has provided a new MRI suite, doubling local scanning capacity to allow specialist clinicians to see patients more quickly, speed up diagnoses and access to the right treatments.

The state of the art facility has separate areas for outpatients attending appointments and those who have been admitted for treatment. Two new Philips scanners will allow a wider range of specialist scans to be delivered. Also included is specialist visual equipment to designed ease patients' anxiety: coloured mood lighting and projected videos will provide the best possible environment for patients during the scanning process.

Construction, by contractors Hobson Porter, was completed in 14 months.
