P+HS Team Shares Expertise at the Farrell Centre Public Talks Series

We were proud to take part in the recent Public Talks series at Newcastle's Farrell Centre, held alongside the Housing Standardisation exhibition. Four of our residential experts joined panels to discuss housing quality, accessibility, and design standards in the North East.

Delivering Affordable Housing: Associate Director Katie Shepherd discussed how different funding and delivery routes affect housing design, sharing how we can exceed standard regulations to build lasting community value.

Homes for Life (Accessible Design): Associate Architect Henrietta Pissarro and Chartered Architect Will Clarke tackled design for our rapidly ageing population. Henrietta advocated for intergenerational living, while Will shared pedestrian-first insights from our Clasper Village masterplan in Gateshead.

Life and Death of Housing Types: Senior Architect Nathan Sanders explored how local housing styles adapt or decline. He shared our work creating modern house types for Newcastle City Council, showing how new design can solve urban density challenges.

Thank you to the Farrell Centre for hosting these vital conversations on building better, people-centred places!
